We need ideas from all employees to keep getting better. Northwest Cascade encourages employee involvement. We get lots of input on quality, efficiency and safety issues, and constantly strive to improve results. Employees are empowered to make their own decisions on the job, keeping in mind our company Vision and Core Values.
Northwest Cascade openly shares information on monthly profits, safety trends, and recent “Good News”. Employees understand our critical success factors and take an active role in improving performance. Northwest Cascade is committed to share its success with those that made it possible.
Twenty percent of annual net profits are distributed to employees as a performance bonus.
Employees who become supervisors or managers are offered the chance to become shareholders. The company currently has more than 60 owners. The value of our stock has increased each year, providing a valuable long-term incentive.
Most of our production employees belong to one of three unions – Operating Engineers, Laborers, or Teamsters. All of our collective bargaining agreements include an excellent family medical plan and a pension plan. Non- union employees also have an excellent medical plan and a generous, 401K plan.
